Celebrating International Women's Day!

This year's theme for International Women's Day is #BreakTheBias which is all about encouraging people to break the biases that exist in our communities, our workplaces, our schools and in our thoughts, whether they are deliberate or unconscious.

Inspiring Girls and Women to Stay Active

A recent study found that millions of girls fall out of love with sports by the time they are teenagers due to reasons including a lack of confidence. It's important for girls and women to see themselves represented in the world, including outdoor adventures. When girls visit Mendip, we want them to be inspired and see female role models they can relate to.

Three women smile and make faces while out hiking in the snow. They are wearing warm jackets, waterproof trousers and large rucksacks.

We are extremely proud that women make up a large part of our team at Mendip Activity Centre. We're always aiming to improve this number - on our recent Outdoor Instructor Training Course 40% of the training instructors were female.

Two girls are playing field hockey in a grassy camping field. The sun is shining, the sky is blue and tress line the edge of the field.
